Do Indian passport holders need a UAE visa?
Yes. Indian citizens need a UAE tourist visa before travelling to the United Arab Emirates for tourism, to visit family or friends, or for short business meetings. The UAE tourist visa is issued electronically through an approved sponsor; Vistolane works with an authorised agent. Fees depend on duration and entry type (30 or 60 days, single or multiple; 5% VAT included). UAE-valid travel medical insurance is mandatory.
The application is made online as an e-visa issued through an airline, hotel or approved agent; no appointment, biometrics or passport submission. There is no visa centre to visit: the e-visa is e-mailed as a PDF and checked by the airline at check-in. Indian passport holders with a valid US visa, US green card, or a UK or EU residence visa valid for at least six months can instead obtain a 14-day visa on arrival in the UAE.
UAE visa requirements from India: document checklist
Every UAE visa application from India needs the core set below; the second list is what UAE officers look at most closely. Vistolane checks each document against the UAE checklist before anything is submitted.
- Passport valid for at least six months beyond your return date, with two blank pages
- Two recent photographs to the destination's specification
- Completed application form (we fill it with you and check every field)
- Return flight reservation and accommodation for the whole stay
- Bank statements for the last three to six months showing regular income
- Employment letter with approved leave, or business registration if self-employed
- Income-tax returns for the last two to three years
- Travel insurance covering the whole stay (mandatory for Schengen, recommended elsewhere)
Specific to the UAE tourist visa:
- Clear colour scan of the passport bio page, valid for at least six months
- Passport-size photo on a white background
- Confirmed return ticket
- Hotel booking, or the host's Emirates ID and tenancy contract if staying with family
- Bank statement for the last three months (requested for 60-day and multiple-entry visas)
- PAN card copy, required by most UAE visa issuers for Indian applicants

UAE visa processing time
gdrfad.gov.ae publishes a processing time of 2–4 working days for the UAE tourist visa. Vistolane quotes 2–6 working days including its own safety buffer and guarantees the date the file is lodged. Appointment availability adds to this in peak season, so the appointment is the first thing we book.
Validity: 30-day and 60-day visas, single or multiple entry, valid for entry within 60 days of issue; a five-year multiple-entry tourist visa is available for frequent visitors who can show a USD 4,000 bank balance.

Why UAE visas get refused, and how we prevent it
Most UAE refusals for Indian applicants trace back to the file, not the applicant. The patterns below come from refusal letters handled on the platform.
- Passport scans with glare or cut edges that are rejected by the system
- Choosing a 30-day visa for a trip that runs over 30 days
- Overstaying by even a day, which attracts a daily fine at exit
- Applying through unverified agents who hold the passport data
A refusal is not a ban. Vistolane reads the refusal letter, fixes the stated reason and re-files with a short cover note, usually within the same week.
