How Vistolane verifies visa facts
Every fee, processing window and visa type on this site is read from the authority that publishes it, stored once, dated, and re-checked. This page explains the process and what the dates mean.

One record per destination
Every number you see for a destination comes from one record: the visa type and format, the government fee, mandatory charges, the Vistolane fee, the published processing window, validity, stay, entries, biometrics, the verification date and the two source links. The destination page, its guide, the comparison pages, the Hindi twin, the search snippet and the structured data all render from that record, so they cannot disagree.
52 destinations are covered today, drawing on 66 official source sites; the most recent check was on 3 November 2026.
What "last verified" means
The date on a destination page is the later of two checks: the price desk re-reading the authority's fee page, and the processing desk re-reading the authority's or visa centre's published processing time. Each check is stored with the URL it was read from, and the page links to that URL next to the date. A fee or window that we could not re-read is never stamped.
Exchange rates are applied at display time, so the Indian-rupee figure can move with the rate while the stored authority amount does not. The authority amount in its own currency is what we verify.
Where facts come from: the source hierarchy
- 1
The issuing authority
The immigration department, ministry or e-visa portal of the destination. This is the only source for the visa type, government fee, validity and stay.
- 2
The authority's appointed centre
VFS Global, TLScontact, BLS or the consulate's own centre, used for appointment-related charges and for processing windows the authority publishes through them.
- 3
The embassy or consulate serving India
Used for country-of-filing notices: holidays, document lists and interview waits that the central page does not carry.
News reports, forums, other agents' websites and generated summaries are never a source. Where a page is blocked for automated readers, a person opens it in a browser and records the date.
Re-checked at least every 60 days
A record older than 60 days is flagged stale by the audit and re-checked before the next publish. Authority changes announced mid-cycle (a fee revision, a new arrival form, a suspended route) are applied the day they take effect and the record is re-stamped.
52 of 52 dated records are inside the 60-day window today.
The publish gate
Before any page is published, a build-time check reads the rendered page against its record. If two different fees, two different processing windows or two different visa-type names for the same route appear on one page, or a term the record has retired (for example a visa format that no longer applies) is still present, the build fails and nothing is published until the record is corrected.
- Two prices for the same route on one page: blocked
- A total that does not equal the lines above it: blocked
- A retired visa format or name still in the copy: blocked
- A visa type missing from the record: blocked
The read-only audit
An automated audit walks every record and every source URL: it flags records past the re-check window, source pages that no longer resolve, pages that block automated readers, and visa-type names that contradict the stated format. Findings are fixed in the record, never patched in page copy, and every fee or source change is written to a dated change log with the person or process that made it.
What we never claim
Vistolane is not a government body and is not affiliated with any embassy or consulate. A visa decision is the authority's alone; we publish the authority's processing window and, where enough closed Vistolane cases exist, the median days our own files took, labelled as such. We do not publish approval rates as promises. The filing guarantee covers the filing date, not the outcome.
Report an error
If a fee, window or rule on any page differs from what the authority publishes today, tell us with the link you saw it on. Corrections are made to the record, stamped with the day they are applied and visible on the page the same day.
