The rule
Twenty-one days from an unconditional offer to a biometrics appointment is achievable when the funds file is ready before the offer arrives. The sequence is fixed: offer letter, tuition deposit, CAS or LOA issued, visa form, fee and health surcharge, biometrics slot, decision. Each hand-off that waits for an email costs two to three days.
The critical path is the institution issuing the CAS/LOA/COE. Build the funds and document file in parallel so the visa form is filed the same day the sponsor document lands.
What the consulate or authority actually counts
- Unconditional offer with the course, start date and fee
- Tuition deposit receipt (often required before CAS/LOA)
- English test result at the required level and still valid
- Funds file already seasoned
- TB test or medical where the passport requires it
Where it goes wrong
- Waiting for the CAS to start the funds file
- English test expiring between offer and visa filing
- Booking biometrics before the fee and surcharge are paid (the slot is invalid)
- Term start inside the decision window with no buffer
