About the Mexico visa

Mexico: consulate visitor visa (waived with a valid us visa), student and work residence. Government fee and the guaranteed decision window are confirmed before you pay.

Mexico requires an embassy or consulate process. After the online form and fee, you book an interview (with fingerprints and a photo taken on the day); the officer decides at or shortly after the interview and the passport is returned with the visa a few days later.

Fees. The Mexico government fee is $54 and the vistolane filing fee is $59, an all-in price of $113 per traveller with no surcharge at the consulate. The published processing time is 10 to 15 days. vistolane commits to a decision date before you pay and shows the 15-day window on the price card above.

Validity and stay. A Mexico sticker visa is valid for 10 years and allows a stay of up to 180 days on a multiple-entry basis. Routes covered on this page: Visitor, Temporary Resident Student, Work.

Proof of funds for Mexico, by visa category

Indicative minimums in your currency. Consulates read three to six months of statements and compare the balance with your itinerary, tuition or salary.

Tourist / visitor$1,500
Student$10,000
Work / sponsored$1,050
Family / partner$1,950
Business / investor$200,000
Permanent residence$1,500

Refusals. The most common Mexico refusal reasons are inconsistent bank statements, weak evidence of ties or purpose of travel, and form errors that contradict the passport. Every document you upload to vistolane is checked against the Mexico checklist before filing, and the mock interview tool covers the questions officers ask at the consulate.
